PALS offer a large variety of services to people of all ages. Our services focus on providing assessments and reports for individuals and offer intervention options based on the results of those assessments with the aim of helping individuals reach their potential.
PALS reports are accepted by the HSE, the Department of Education and Science (DES) and for qualification for the Disability Access Route to Education (DARE) when applying for Third Level Education entry.
Our price list and services are listed below. We will travel nationwide to schools for psycho-educational assessments, however the comprehensive assessments will need to be done in the clinic. Where travel to the school is required, there will be an additional fee to cover mileage, however if more than one assessment is booked, then this fee will be waived. In cases where schools book 3 or more assessments, we offer a 10% discount to the overall bill.
Literacy and numeracy testing only. Used for DARE Application where a Cognitive assessment has already been completed but up to date literacy/numeracy scores are needed. The required DARE Attainment Summary Sheet will be completed and given to you on the assessment date if criteria is met.
This is an assessment focusing on the learning ability of an individual and is used to identify whether a learning difficulty or disability may be present. This includes general learning disabilities as well as more specific disabilities such as Dyslexia and Dyscalculia. This assessment is suitable for individual of all ages, however we would recommend 7 years to be the youngest for Dyslexia/Dyscalculia assessments. If you or your child have been previously assessed by us, or one of their siblings have, we will reduce this fee to €300.
Comprehensive Psychological Assessment (Cognitive, Behavioural and Emotional)
(Including ADHD, Anxiety, ODD, Anxiety):
This assessment carries out a full psycho-educational assessment in addition to also examining behavioural, emotional and social difficulties that may be presenting at home and/or in the school environment, with the purpose of recommending supports to be put in place to help, such as a Special Needs Assistant. This form of assessment may diagnose ADHD and EBD (Emotional Behavioural Disturbances). Assessments are conducted using formal DSM-5 diagnostic criteria.
Gold Standard Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Assessment
This assessment utilizes two gold standard assessment tools for diagnosis of ASD (the ADOS-2 and 3DI). This assessment also incorporates a Cognitive, Behavioural and Emotional assessment, as detailed above, providing a extremely comprehensive psychological assessment of an individual. These assessments can only be carried out at our clinic, although we offer Saturday and Sunday appointments.
