PALS offers a large variety of assessment services to people of all ages. Our services focus on cognitive, behavioural, emotional and social assessments to develop a comprehensive profile of an individual.
With every assessment, a detailed report is generate which is then used to put interventions and strategies in place to help our clients achieve their full potential. PALS are accepted by the HSE, the Department of Education and Science (DES) and for qualification for the Disability Access Route to Education (DARE). Reports are normally issued no later than 2 to 3 weeks from the assessment date, unless delayed by a need for additional information from third parties (e.g. schools or parents). Assessments are conducted using DSM-5 diagnostic criteria along with reliable and valid standardised testing.

This is an assessment focusing on the learning ability of an individual and is used to identify whether a learning difficulty or disability may be present. This includes general learning disabilities as well as more specific disabilities such as Dyslexia and Dyscalculia.
6 years or under (where too young to asses for dyslexia/dyscalculia): €250
Primary School: €300
Secondary School and Adults: €400
This assessment carries out a full psycho-educational assessment in addition to also examining behavioural, emotional and social difficulties that may be presenting at home and/or in the school environment. This would include diagnosis Emotional Behafioural Difficulties such as ADHD, Anxiety, Oppositional Defiance Disorder, Conduct Disorder, Etc.
Primary School: €450
Secondary School and Adults: €550
This assessment takes place in potentially two phases. Phase 1 provides an overall Cognitive, Behavioural, Emotional and Social assessment. Phase 2 will only take place if Phase 1 has not ruled out the presence of ASD, and involves furtehr assessment by Speech and Language Therapy, adding a mult-disciplinary aspect to this assessment..
Children aged 3 to 5 and/or nonverbal: Phase 1: €600 Phase 2: €200 (Overall Fee: €800)
Primary School: Phase 1: €700 Phase 2: €250 (Overall Fee: €950)
Secondary School/Adults: Phase 1: €800 Phase 2: €250 (Overall Fee: €1050)
We will travel nationwide to schools for psycho-educational assessments, however the assessments for ASD need to be done in the clinic.
Where travel to the school is required, there will be an additional fee to cover mileage.
However if more than one assessment is booked, then this fee will be waived. In cases where schools book 3 or more assessments, we offer a 10% discount to the overall bill.
For parents who have previously had someone assessed with us, or who hold a medical card, we will provide a €50 discount to the overall fee.

Where can assessments be carried out?
The majority of our private assessment's are done in our clinic. We can visit schools for assessments, however only for schools that are within a 1 hour radius of the clinic. For school visits, the school will need to contact us directly to arrange this. Our more comprehensive ASD Assessments can only be completed in the clinic.
How long will it take to receive the report?
All reports are usually generated 2-3 weeks after the assessment. Sometimes, if we require additional information from a parent or teacher then reports may be delayed.
Do you provide multiple assessments for schools?
Yes, PALS works with a large number of schools. We can carry out multiple assessments during our visit and we even offer a discount for booking multiple assessments together.
